The Stone

A granite paler, softer,
and stronger than most

The name “Wicklow White” comes from the dominance of pale grey quartz and a milky white feldspar grain, with a slight alignment of dark mica that makes it paler than ordinary grey granites.

When cut and polished the colour is soft and pleasing, the reason for its enduring market demand, from Georgian Dublin to contemporary public realm projects.

The American Embassy in Ballsbridge has carried our reconstituted and cut granite on its perimeter wall since 1992, without any deterioration. In the 1990s our dimensional blocks were exported to Pisani in England and John Fyffe (Granite) plc in Scotland, where our stone was used on the Aberdeen Bridge.
